For Transfers

Why I Chose UT

Each year, more than 1,500 students transfer to the University of Tennessee. They come for the more than 170 undergraduate degree programs. They come for an experience that’s second to none. They come to be a member of the Volunteer Family.

There’s still time! We have extended our application deadline for transfer students to June 1. Apply now to enroll at UT, live in our great campus residence halls, and enjoy our many academic opportunities and extracurricular programs.

Colleges and Majors

UT offers excellent academic programs in nine different colleges, the opportunity to study with nationally distinguished faculty, and state-of-the-art research facilities. Explore our major guides and find the program that’s right for you.

Transfer Credits

The University of Tennessee accepts transfer credit of similar content from accredited institutions. The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for determining course transfer equivalencies.

The Tennessee Transfer Pathway was established to facilitate transferring from Tennessee's public community colleges to UT. Students who complete a Tennessee Transfer Pathway will be given priority consideration for admission. However, admission is not guaranteed; the process is still competitive and still holistic.

Life @ UT

You will spend a good portion of your college experience outside the classroom. With more than 400 student organizations, our friendly campus is a place where you can get involved and make lasting connections. See what opportunities await you.
