Congratulations on your admission! We’re happy to welcome you to the Volunteer Family.
Once you’ve been admitted, there are several things you need to take care of before arriving on campus. A few key items are below.

Before getting started: You’ll need to set up your NetID password.
Your NetID is your university user name. Log in to your VIP account to retrieve your NetID. If you need help with your NetID, contact the Help Desk at 865-974-9900. Once you have your NetID, visit our directory to set up your password. You will use this information to log in to your UT email address, which is the official means of communication between the university and students.
Be sure to use your NetID and password to log in to MyUTK at my.utk.edu for a comprehensive checklist of tasks you need to complete before joining us on campus.
Here are a few of the most important steps as a newly admitted transfer student:
Step 1: Review your transfer credit evaluation.
College transcripts are evaluated after you are admitted to the university. Your credit evaluation should be available within two weeks of your date of admission.
To access your transfer credit evaluation, log in to MyUTK and click Transfer Credit Evaluation under Academic Resources.
You should review your credit evaluation carefully and bring a copy with you to orientation to discuss with your academic advisor.

Step 2: Confirm your enrollment
Complete the online confirmation and pay the nonrefundable enrollment deposit at my.utk.edu to secure your place in the entering class!
When you confirm and pay the enrollment deposit, you will receive a housing contract by email and can choose your campus housing for next year.
If your confirmation and deposit are not received online or postmarked by May 15 (summer entry) or August 1 (fall entry), your offer of admission will be canceled.
Step 3: Complete your housing contract.
Your housing contract confirmation and preferences selection information will be sent to your UT email account shortly after you have been offered admission.
Confirm your contract and complete the preferences information to receive an assignment if you plan to live on campus. You may confirm your housing/dining contract at any time, but the earlier the better.
Step 4. Submit the FAFSA.
Update your previously filed FAFSA to include UT Knoxville as your first-choice college/university.
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year at fafsa.gov. UT’s federal code is 003530. Submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1, 2019, to be considered for the widest range of federal and state aid for the 2020–21 academic year.
Step 5. Register for orientation.
All new students are required to attend orientation, and special sessions are held throughout the year for transfer students. Review the dates for transfer orientation and register for a session prior to your term of enrollment.
During orientation, you will be advised and register for classes. You can review the course catalog. Before the beginning of each academic term, you can view semester class offerings and schedules in the online timetable at timetable.utk.edu.
