Transfer advisors play an important role in guiding students. Here at UT, we appreciate the support you provide your students. We are here to provide you with information that will best allow you to guide them as they navigate the college transfer process.

Community College Partners Workshop

This conference-style event gives administrators, faculty, and staff from Tennessee’s Community Colleges the opportunity to learn about transfer initiatives at UT and interact with representatives from various departments across campus.

Application Process and Requirements

Undergraduate Admissions utilizes a holistic application review considering all parts of the transfer student’s academic record. All grades earned in transferable academic-level coursework from every regionally accredited college attended will be considered in determining admissibility. If you have earned 24 or less transferable college level hours, your application will be reviewed holistically based on your high school and transfer GPA, ACT/SAT scores, intended major, and other factors.

We are committed to reviewing all transfer applications for admission. Transfer applicants should have a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in transferable academic-level coursework. Students are encouraged to include a personal statement and other supporting documentation that will strengthen their application in addition to their academic coursework.

After they apply, students can check their application status online through their Go Vols account. The Go Vols account will also list any documents such as an official transcript or test scores that UT hasn’t received yet. Keep in mind that transcripts and other documents might take a while to show in the system.
